Rik O’Hare was born in Bristol, UK, in the sixties and has taken a winding path to authorship. Over the years he has stacked shelves, crafted lenses in an optical factory, and — most memorably — served many years as a firefighter. Each role, from the ordinary to the extraordinary, has given him a keen eye for human resilience and the fragile line between order and chaos.

Today, Rik lives in Bristol with his family and writes speculative fiction with a strong focus on science fiction. His stories explore survival, mystery, and cosmic discovery, always beginning with a simple but powerful question: what if?

A lifelong fan of speculative storytelling and a member of the British Science Fiction Association, Rik draws on his fascination with science, space, and the unknown to craft thrilling, character-driven adventures.
